Issues - Neighborhood Parks

Preserving and improving our quality of life is important for making Everett an attractive place to live, work, and play. The mountains and water that surround our city truly define our area of the Puget Sound region. Similarly, the unique parks and outdoor recreational areas that can be found within our city truly define what Everett is about. As a City Council member, I will ensure that we uphold our obligation to protect these natural spaces for future generations to enjoy.

I have supported the renovation of existing parks, such as the amazing enhancements that were made at Lions Park, as well as the investment in 15 acres of open space for a new park in south Everett by the Interurban Trail. I also remain committed to completing the redevelopment of Everett's riverfront and the completion of the Silver Lake Trail.

In addition to park improvements, I've also advocated for cultural amenities and outdoor recreational opportunities in Everett that have made our city a more compelling place to live. City-sponsored events like Music in the Parks, Cinema Under the Stars, and Sorticulture help create a sense of community and make Everett a more vibrant and desirable destination.

Parks, open spaces, and public access to shoreline areas, which are all important to the quality of life for our families, are valuable assets to our community. By continuing to make prudent investments in these areas, we can ensure that our community is an attractive choice for families, businesses, and engaged citizens who will have a positive impact on our future.
