Dear Neighbor,

Four years ago, I was motivated to serve on the City Council to ensure that local government was listening to Everett's citizens and effectively delivering key services required for improving our quality of life. I was also committed to the idea that our government should be fiscally responsible - not only living within its means, but also creating the conditions for economic prosperity. During my time in office, I have seen firsthand how this recession has created real hardships for people who live and work in our community. I feel a responsibility to help.

As a City Council member, I have been focused on creating family wage jobs by making it easier for new businesses to come to Everett and for local businesses to expand their operations. Similarly, I have been an advocate for transportation investments like the Broadway Bridge to help keep our City moving. Where possible, I have encouraged City leaders to find ways to spend less knowing that a reduced tax burden provides an important competitive advantage.

While working to ensure that local government operates efficiently, we cannot sacrifice on essential services and public safety. To that end, I have consistently supported strong public safety programs in police and fire to keep our neighborhoods safe. Additionally, I have been a proponent of investing in public spaces, including the renovation of Lions Park, knowing that preserving a high quality of life is critical for attracting and retaining engaged citizens who energize our community.

I intend to work very hard and will be running a strong campaign through November. Your support and help is greatly appreciated and I invite your participation. I look forward to working with you in making Everett the best it can be!
